San Luis Valley Health is seeking qualified candidates to fill full time and part time Registered Nurse positions in a float capacity. The RN, Float will provide nursing care for patients on an assigned unit by demonstrating the ability to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patients to ensure adequate care and nursing standards are met.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
Response to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
Knowledge of the scope of care of unlicensed assistive personnel in each unit and be able to delegate tasks as appropriate
Participate in rapid responses, code blues and assisting with critical patients on the medical/surgical unit and Obstetrics unit
Ability to administer and titrate vasoactive intravenous medications as ordered
Provide nursing care to patients within an assigned unit or cross-trained unit and ability to document using electronic medical record
Observes patients, recording significant conditions and reactions, and notifies provider of patient’s condition and response to drugs, treatments, and any change in patient’s condition
The RN, Float must hold the following education and qualifications,
Current Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure
BLS, ALS, PALS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program completed within 6 months of hire
Two years nursing experience preferred
