The UIC College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Hospital Pharmacy Services seek a Clinical Faculty/Clinical Pharmacist to join our team as Coordinator, Information Technology. The primary assignment for the person in this position is to UI Health’s Hospital Pharmacy IT team. The Hospital Pharmacy IT team collaborates with the hospital’s Department of Information Systems to implement, configure, support, and manage software applications and technology for the pharmacy as well as the hospital and clinics. This position will be actively involved in the organization’s Epic optimization, ensuring that UI Health’s clinical and business needs are being met.
Clinical faculty responsibilities include the provision of didactic lectures and precepting entry level Doctor of Pharmacy students, PGY1 residents and PGY2 residents. Scholarly activities, including presentations and publications, are an expectation as well. Clinical Pharmacist responsibilities include nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development and coordinating and conducting quality improvement projects.
In addition, applicants must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for an academic faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Clinical faculty responsibilities of the position include the provision of didactic teaching and clinical experiential teaching/training in the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Candidates must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited PharmD program
Candidates must be licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a pharmacist
Epic Willow Inpatient certification
Knowledge of and experience with pharmacy-related software and hardware (e.g., automated medication cabinets, carousels)
Candidates must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a non-tenured clinical faculty position with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC College of Pharmacy
Strong analytical and data management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Two years-experience working with Epic Willow Inpatient in an academic medical center setting
Experience working as a member of an IT team within a health care setting
Completion of a PGY2 residency in informatics or Master’s degree in an IT related area
Experience leading an IT team
