As part of the front-line WIM Operations organization, the WIM Financial Crimes Risk Program (WIM FCRP) is responsible for ensuring WIM businesses are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies related to Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, International Economic Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. WIM FCRP ensures Financial Crimes controls are effectively designed and executed in line with WIM and Wells Fargo's risk tolerance.
WIM FCRC has an exciting opportunity to join its High Risk Customer Team. The High Risk Customer Officer will be responsible for performing in flight Quality Control of WIM's High Risk Customer due diligence processes, specific to aircraft transportation assets financed within WIM. This role will perform key quality assessments of several enhanced and ongoing due diligence processes, ensuring all analysis completed by the WIM Financial Crimes Risk & Control teams meet defined quality expectations, and effectively identifies and mitigates financial crimes risk within the organization. Additionally, the Quality Control associate will be responsible for delivering sustainable and exceptional service to our internal clients. The High Risk Customer Officer will be a subject matter expert on aircraft transportation assets, including industry, geographic, and transactional risk. Ensuring that all internal Service Level Agreements, standards/policy, regulatory requirements, and expectations associated with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and Economic Sanctions laws and regulations are met will be critical to the candidate success.
Key Roles & Responsibilities: The High Risk Client Officer responsibilities include assisting with the performance of enhanced due diligence (EDD) for WIM's aircraft transportation assets customer population, to include performing the following:
Provide ongoing independent Quality Control reviews real time for various WIM HRCM due diligence processes specific to aircraft transportation assets financed within WIM
Accurately analyze the results of the Quality Control review, identify trends, and escalate for further evaluation if needed
Identify potential concerns, determine the root cause, and coordinate with management to determine appropriate next steps
Clearly document results of Quality Control reviews in a complete, accurate and timely manner
Effectively communicate the results of the Quality Control review with the process owners, impacted consultants and management
Understanding complex investment/asset holding structures for the purpose of identifying ownership and control
Reviews of internal customer account documentation, external supporting documentation, and third party vendor informational sources
Function as a subject matter expert on various high risk customer processes along with AML and Financial Crimes related policy and procedures; providing expert level guidance to partners across the various WIM businesses
Maintaining current knowledge of the external regulatory environment and continuously assessing and reporting real and potential impacts to WIM's businesses
7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) experience
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
Quality control review experience

3+ years of experience in Banking / Securities Industries, Law Enforcement, and/or Federal Regulation in a combination of one or more of the following areas:
BSA/AML/OFAC Regulatory Compliance in large, diverse financial institutions
Federal or State Law Enforcement pertaining to White-Collar Crime
Federal or State Financial Institution Regulatory Oversight pertaining to BSA/AML Compliance
Experience working with complex offshore operating and non-operating holding structures to include Personal Investment Companies (PICs), Trusts, Foundations, Reinsurance, etc.
Experience/familiarity with common financial crimes applications and WIM systems of record: Actimize, Lexis Nexis, CR2, Dow Jones Risk and Compliance, Bridger, World Check, CLEAR, Cornerstone, Norkom, CPACS, BETA, ClientLink, Smartstation, Newton, SVP, etc
Internal Auditing of BSA/AML/OFAC Programs for large, diverse financial institutions
Experience assisting with programs designed to adhere to BSA/AML/OFAC laws and regulations in either a retail / commercial bank or retail brokerage environment
Experience in performing financial investigations, activity analysis, and risk analysis
Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Arabic speaking skills a plus
Experience in conducting due diligence and investigative related duties at a large global financial institution.
Experience working within a financial crimes / AML role covering private banking and wealth management with exposure to aircraft transportation assets
Law enforcement experience focused on money laundering and other financial crimes related investigations.
Strong, clear and concise written communication skills
