Physical therapists, sometimes called PTs, carefor people of all ages who have functional problems resulting from back andneck injuries; sprains, strains, and fractures; arthritis; amputations;neurological disorders, such as stroke or cerebral palsy; injuries related towork and sports; and other conditions. Physical therapists use a variety oftechniques to care for their patients. These techniques include exercises;training in functional movement, which may include the use of equipment such ascanes, crutches, wheelchairs, and walkers; and special movements of joints,muscles, and other soft tissue to improve mobility and decrease pain.
As a Physical therapist, you typically do the following:
Youwill review patients’ medical history and referrals or notes from doctors,surgeons, or other healthcare workers
Youwill diagnose patients’ functions and movements by observing them stand or walkand by listening to their concerns
Yourrole develops individualized plans of care for patients, outlining thepatients’ goals and the expected outcomes of the plans
Youwill use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment toease patients’ pain, help them increase their mobility, prevent further pain orinjury, and facilitate health and wellness
Yourrole evaluates and record a patients’ progress, modifying the plan of care andtrying new treatments as needed
You educatepatients and their families about what to expect from the recovery process andhow to cope with challenges throughout the process
Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association accredited school with a BS, MS, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
Employee must maintain an active Physical Therapy license in the State of Colorado.
Employee must have current certification in BLS for HealthCare Providers (in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines)
Successful completion of student clinical rotation or work experience in at least one of the following settings: acute care hospital, long-term acute care facility, skilled nursing facility, and/or acute rehabilitation setting.
Weekends, Saturday - Monday.
Inpatient Rehab experience is highly preferred.

Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital is a 42-bed HCA Healthcare facilitylocated in Aurora, Colorado. The facility is the state's first licensed acuterehabilitation hospital and also operates a rehabilitation unit atPresbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center.
