Supervises and coordinates all patient transportation function performed in assigned unit(s). Works within Denver Health's Department of Radiology to lead the performance goal to improve efficiency and effectiveness of assigned operations. Mentors, trains, and coaches patient transportation staff.Under the direct supervision of the Imaging Manager, supervises all shifts including day, evening, night and weekends to ensure efficient use of departmental resources. Administers annual performance evaluations on direct reports and prepares/administers necessary paperwork to address progressive counseling situations.Conducts interviews and hires patient transportation staff with oversight of Imaging Manager.Collaborates with Imaging Manager in the preparation and updating radiology patient transportation policies and procedures.Provides a leadership role in the ongoing project initiatives to streamline radiology patient transportation workflows and to enhance the quality and accuracy of these operations.This position is considered a working supervisor position.
Performs full supervision of radiology patient transportation staff to ensure efficient and safe patient transport throughout the entire Denver Health Medical Center main campus. This includes the Emergency Department, Adult Urgent Care Clinic (AUCC), Pediatric Emergency Department and Urgent Care (PEDUC) and various inpatient locations as assigned.
Sets clear expectations for radiology patient transportation staff by developing job specific expectations and behaviors for each position supervised.Clearly communicates expectations to each employee, and establishes the expectations of job requirements and performance evaluation components.
Identifies training and staff development for radiology patient transportation staff and ensures appropriate training is provided.
Develops work schedules for his/her direct reports.Interviews new candidates for vacant positions, including intermittent positions, when applicable.Handles abrupt radiology patient transportation staffing needs from absences related to sick calls, medical leaves, and staff emergencies.May need to cover absences, if no other direct reports are available.
Conducts annual performance reviews of radiology patient transportation staff who serve as direct reports.All performance reviews must be completed two (2) weeks prior to due date.
Performs monthly one-on-one sessions with radiology patient transportation staff serving as direct reports to discuss daily activities of these individuals, identify potential problem issues with regard to the delivery of care, and opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.On a quarterly basis, assesses direct reports on knowledge and application of AIDET principles.
Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines to include use of 2 patient identifiers.
Meets with Imaging Manager and/or Administrative Director of Radiology on a regular basis to assess potential budget variances (positives and negatives).Primary budget goal of supervisor is to utilize staff such that labor costs remain at or under budget on a monthly basis.
Attends and participates in departmental huddles, general intradepartmental meetings, and Radiology's inservices.
