Under general supervision, responsible and accountable for all activities and competencies related to OR equipment tracking, transport, assembly, delivery, retrieval and maintenance. Provides support and acts as a resource person to the operating room staff and surgical team as well as other areas in the hospital. Plans equipment availability to coincide with daily surgical schedules.
Responsible for quality control; maintenance of equipment and instrumentation, operating of video endoscopy systems, navigational image guided systems, microscopes(Movena, Kinevo, Pentero, Tivato, Leica) lasers, robotic surgical systems, Operating Room table, Hana table, Spine tables; and other complex medical devices. Utilizes the Real Time Location System (RTLS) and Epic Optime systems to track and inventory OR equipment. In addition, ensures staff censure team members adhere to all standards and guidelines, provides training and orientation to staff; delates tasks to staff; approve staff work schedules with Department Manager, and performs other duties in support of OR operations as directed by the supervisor.
A minimum of five (5) years of appropriate OR equipment management experience.
Ability to assist sterile processing manager with enhancement of processes, streamlining of operations, and identification and correction of inefficiencies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and equitably with others.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (including Outlook, Excel, Word).
Excellent planning and organizational skills and ability to work in a changing, multiple-demand setting in order to prioritize a large volume of work and meet deadlines efficiently and accurately.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Familiar with UCSD systems, policies and procedures.
Experience with EPIC and Pro-Click.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
