The Emergency Department at Littleton Adventist Hospital is a Level II Trauma,Comprehensive Stroke and Cardiac center. We have a 35-bed ED and see about 90patients every 24 hours. We are a high acuity ED that sees patients of all ages anddemographics with a mission to give great care to the patients and to each other. ED is agreat team of nurses, critical care techs and unit secretaries that work as one team.Providers are collaborative and are willing to listen to and teach associates. We have a UnitBased Council and encourage all to get involved with changes along with supportive andnon-punitive leadership. Candidates must be willing to engage, be eager to learn and grow,have interest in career longevity and be compassionate with patients and co-workers.
Assists department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, department and/or service line. Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Acts as liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintains communication and promotes cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Provides supervision to the staff; authorizing work procedures and assigning duties. Collaborates with the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
One year of recent ED nursing experience required.
Associate Degree in Nursing
BSN required within 4 years of hire or transfer
RN License required; Current RN license in applicable state of work or current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact for eligible states
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association certification required
ACLS required from the AHA
TNCC required upon hire or within 6 months
NIHSS required upon hire or within 90 days
ANCC; National Nursing Certification ANCC approved is strongly preferred
National Nursing Certification in Speciality Area (refer to facility addendum)
Credential: Nursing Spec
Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
