Family medicine at Scappoose is a community based clinic offering primary care and specialty services for all types of patients. We treat; infants, adolescents, adults (including moms-to-be), and senior citizens. Our services include maternity care, behavioral health care and counseling, transgender care, pediatric care, travel immunizations, podiatry, sports medicine, minor procedures, and preventative care. On average our clinic will see 180 patients or more per day and often times will take over 400 calls. The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, and knowledge transferor [Onsomble Model of the Professional Role]. Professional accountability enriches the Clinical RN's engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork. The Clinical RN exemplifies the principles of a Culture of Safety by committing to a Just Culture, a Reporting Culture, a Learning Culture, and an Engaged Informed Culture. Responsible for the delivery of appropriate, timely and beneficial care for patients which promotes quality and cost-effective health care outcomes working within established standards for case management practice, and Advance Access principles. Provides standard nursing care for patients throughout the age continuum. Responsible for active management of patients. Maintains compliance with applicable laws such as client confidentiality, Americans with Disabilities Act, Workers Compensation, abuse reporting, principles of consent, and advanced medical directives. Advocates for the client/family at the service-delivery level and at the policy-making level fostering the client/familys decision-making, independence, and growth and development. Integrates factors related to quality, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness in planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating client care promoting the most effective and efficient use of human and financial resources. Functions as the liaison between referral providers and SCP providers. Participates in clinic, department, OHSU campus, teams and committees.
