General Requirements:

Associates Degree in related field. Two years of technology related experience. Some working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems and standards, including Windows or Mac OS, Microsoft Office, printers, basic multimedia systems, PC subsystems and e-mail application is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

Receives items that were ordered by Information Technology for utilization around campus. Works with the Property office to tag equipment as needed and will provide information to another area to pay for invoices that have been received.

Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

Checks in items that arrive from vendors and matches the information against open purchase orders. Checks received items against purchase orders. Works with Property to get controlled items tagged and add them to the inventory system while utilizing any new technologies in this process as they are implemented. Updates clients to the status of orders and provides prompt and accurate information in all requests for assistance while maintaining confidentiality. Checks with vendors on the status of orders. Processes paperwork to other areas to make sure invoices are paid. Processes appropriate paperwork with the faculty and staff to ensure proper removal of equipment from campus. Properly routes technical support requests that need further escalation or attention from personnel. Provides recommendations on office procedures and any communication available to our clients. Provides documentation for internal knowledge base. Provides guidance and assistance to co-workers. Works with Sam Houston State University team members as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
