Summary of Duties:
Working independently under general supervision and within established guidelines, the Compensation Assistant performs a variety of duties in support of the Human Resource Services Compensation unit. This project appointment will provide assistance on various compensation projects, research, and day-to-day activities while applying specialized knowledge and independent judgment in resolving technical and paraprofessional problems and interpreting and applying human resource rules, policies, regulations or procedures. Reviews the accuracy of records, exercises decision making authority, and initiates corrective action within established guidelines.
This is a project position and is expected to end on December 31, 2021.
Four years of office experience including two years of experience in a human resource OR related setting OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks at one time, with frequent interruptions.
Excellent attention to details skills.
Working knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), classification and compensation practices.
Experience with classification & compensation including researching market data.
Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.
Experience with working with data/information in Excel.
