 Clinical Nurse (RN) - Orthopaedic Clinic (Limited Term) Department Description The Orthopaedic Clinic is part of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery that provides comprehensive medical and surgical care of the musculoskeletal system for both adults and children. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities Registered Nurses in the Orthopaedics department at UC Davis Medical Center provide care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of surgical (medical surgical, critical care, emergent, perioperative) needs. Patient conditions include: Orthopaedic surgery specialties for Hand/Upper Extremity Adult Reconstructive, Pediatrics, Trauma, Sports Medicine, and Oncology/Sarcoma. This limited full time position (25 weeks maximum) is responsible for Orthopedic surgical patients from initial diagnosis through the post-operative and surveillance phase; including medical clearance review, surgical case scheduling, and coordination of aftercare. Skills for this position include accountability, empathy, and ability to multi-task and prioritize. Orthopaedics is a high-volume clinic with shifting priorities. Ability to work overtime and respond to urgent clinic needs is required. Required Qualifications
Special Requirements References reflect an overall meets or exceeds. Ability to work overtime, float to other areas and work weekends and holidays. Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. and assist in moving patients, and stand on feet over extended periods This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
