The Modeling Virtual Environments and Simulations (MOVES) Institute at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California invites applications for Intermittent Senior Lecturer. MOVES is an interdisciplinary research and academic program dedicated to education and research in all areas of defense modeling and simulation (M&S), including DOD Healthcare M&S. Applicants must have strong backgrounds in both healthcare and modeling & simulation. Applicants will be expected to teach courses and advise students in the M&S Healthcare program. Course topics include training in virtual environments, medical simulation technologies used to train healthcare professionals, and cutting-edge methodologies in healthcare M&S.
The starting date for the candidate can range from April 5, 2021 to May 30, 2021.
The minimum educational requirement is a graduate degree in Experimental or Cognitive Psychology, Behavioral Science, Human Factors, or in a closely related academic field that facilitates cognitive learning.
Broad experience (6 years or more) as a faculty member in accredited institution of higher education.
Must be able to complete and successfully pass a security Background investigation.
Must be a US citizen.

At least three years teaching experience in healthcare modeling and simulation withina military context
At least five years of Research experience in Healthcare M&S
Demonstrate scientific publication record by:
at least one healthcare M&S publication in a peer reviewed journal
at least one healthcare M&S conference presentation at a conference
Certificate in teaching and learning in higher education from an accredited university is preferred
A minimum of five years of experience working as a researcher, instructor, or supervisor of human training, performance, and safety in the healthcare domain.
A minimum of five years of experience in providing instruction to healthcare professionals and government personnel via Distance Learning and Learning Management Systems.
Current (i.e., within the last five years), hands-on experience in selecting, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating simulation systems and other instructional media for healthcare training professionals including physicians, nurses, and simulation facility operators.
