Boerne, TX | THE CLUBS OF CORDILLERA RANCH is the core amenity to one of the most successful master planned communities in Texas, Cordillera Ranch. This 8,700 acre oasis in the Texas Hill Country is anchored by the perennial top 10 course in Texas (according to Dallas Morning News), a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course which opened in 2007. The Club also earned the prestigious honor of “Golf Course of the Year” by the National Golf Course Owners Association in 2014.
Cordillera Ranch is a master planned community of low density development spanning 12 miles across and bordered on the north by roughly five miles of the Guadalupe River. The residential lot development was started in 1997 by DH Investment Company (DHI) and after several years of success in selling estate home sites, DHI added the private club amenities from 2005 through 2009. Over 1,300 home sites have been developed and sold to date and another 1,000+ more are planned for the years ahead. Lots average approximately $250K and homes over $1MM. Given the close proximity to San Antonio (20 minutes north of La Cantera and The Rim shopping area), great school district (Boerne ISD is highly regarded throughout the state) and
... diverse array of amenities, Cordillera Ranch is a primary residence community (though many have second homes elsewhere.) Though its luxury real estate attracts many retirees, there is definitely a diverse demographic with many young families attracted to the area and Boerne ISD, which recently was named the Best Small School District in Texas by HEB’s Excellence in Education committee.
Unique for a development with this scale and history, Cordillera Ranch has been under the same ownership and management for its entire 20+ year history. The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is still owned by the original developer and because of its importance as an amenity to real estate sales, there are no intentions to relinquish control of the Club at this time. This stable history has not only resulted in consistency in the vision for the community and the club, but also highlights the financial discipline of the developer, DHI, in successfully managing the real estate development and Club through challenging economic cycles. Further, Cordillera Ranch is located within Kendall County, which has historically been a business-friendly area and, while following all CDC-recommended and state guidelines, the Club has remained open throughout the recent Covid-19 pandemic. The conservative philosophy of the tightly-held ownership of the Club provides a singular point of reporting for the General Manager—there are no committees to whom the GM reports.
The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch seek a progressive and innovative agronomic leader to attract and lead a motivated grounds staff. He/She should take special pride in delivering exceptional playing conditions for members and guests by providing extraordinary turf conditioning, golf course grounds presentation, and customer service. The Director of Agronomy will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the entire agronomy team at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch with a primary concentration on organizing, directing, and overseeing all facets of the department including, but not limited to staffing, training, safety protocol, chemical/fertilizer plans, working relationships across departments, interaction with club members, interaction with regional and national third-party consultants, and financial controls for the department. The Director of Agronomy will have a critical eye for details while also being able to manage big picture priorities to produce consistent high quality results. This position will report directly to the General Manager.
