To provide routine clerical assistance in the performance of office tasks routine in nature and covered by established policies and procedures for the Biology Department. Duties will be assigned and completed under the direction of full-time staff members. Special projects may be assigned as needed.
Relieve full-time office staff (4 employees) of a variety of daily general office duties including; answering the phone, greeting visitors, unlocking doors, filing, sorting mail/packages, submitting OIT/Maintenance work orders, taking reservations for the conference rooms, printing/copying exams for faculty, tidying the copy room and kitchen areas, etc. Assist the Accountant with downloading and disbursing of ProCard and statement of account documents: Organize receipts, separate PDF files, follow up with missing documents, and filing. Assist with event planning and seminar series: Help prepare, transport supplies, and clean up. Assist the Admin Assistant with timesheets: Tracking, follow up with missing timesheets, and filing. Assist the Support Specialist with office supplies: Taking regular inventory, placing Mav eShop orders, and restock. Assist the Support Specialist with key/card access requests for faculty, students, and staff each week. Assist the Admin Service Officer with the annual Space Inventory, Asset Management Inventory, and Key Audit by taking notes and organizing files. Assist the Admin Service Officer with special projects as assigned.
High School diploma or GED. Six (6) months of clerical experience or the equivalent experience. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate and liaise with faculty and administrators. Efficient and competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
One (1) year of clerical experience in a large academic department or similar environment.
