The UC Davis Health Investigational Drugs Service (IDS) manages investigational drugs for more than 250 clinical trials. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The IDS pharmacist plays a pivotal role in working with investigators and sponsors to implement and manage clinical trials with investigational agents, providing comprehensive administrative, distributive and clinical support including: protocol development and review; maintaining industry standards for investigational product procurement, storage, handling, preparation and distribution; developing processes for ordering and prescribing investigational agents; providing education and support to medical, nursing and pharmacy personnel regarding investigational products and protocols; working research staff to facilitate regulatory and sponsor-required quality assurance reviews. Special Requirements The position includes variable shifts, days and weekends. May need to work occasional overtime based on department needs. Must be able to stock and store medication boxes with weights up to 25 pounds. Must be willing to work with cancer chemotherapeutic agents and investigational drugs. Special protective equipment must be used for required preparation of hazardous substances and spill cleanup. TB skin testing required annually. Must have good personal hygiene and dress in a professional manner consistent with the Departmental professional behavior policy. Abide by Departmental attendance standards. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
