The Regis School is seeking qualified candidates for full-time Lower School Lead Teacher for the 2021-22 school year.

Founded in 1991, The Regis School of the Sacred Heart is an independent, Catholic school for boys in grades 3 Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Regis holds membership with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, and is accredited through the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest and the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department.

Position Description

As a Sacred Heart Educator, the Lower School Lead Teacher’s primary purpose is to provide an academically innovative curriculum tailored for boys, that is stimulating and challenging. The educational environment that is established must be in accordance with the Goals & Criteria of the Sacred Heart mission.

Responsibilities

• Teach a Lower School homeroom and assigned subjects for specific grade level.
• Organize, lead, plan, and provide developmentally appropriate boy-centered instruction.
• Plan and implement curriculum and support a differentiated classroom environment to meet the needs of students.
• Provide activities that encourage innovation, exploration, problem-solving, and utilize the use of technology.
• Support STEM and creative initiatives beyond the classroom that enhance interdisciplinary student learning.
• Maintain an open and cooperative relationship with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Participate in Lower School faculty and department meetings, serve on committees, and perform various faculty supervisory duties.
• Possess a love for teaching boys and utilize boy-friendly teaching techniques.
• Engage in Professional Development and commit to consistent growth as an educator.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, maintain accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
• Current Teaching Certificate
• Experience teaching in the Pre K-8 school environment with a focus on boys’ education
• Knowledge of and proficiency with utilizing technology
• CPR certification/Safe Environment training
• References that speak to strengths
