DESCRIPTIONWork collaboratively within a dynamic team environment by providing laboratory and general assistance to research related to genetics and physiology of cyanobacteria. Responsible for facilitating the day-to-day activities of the laboratory by carrying out a variety of tasks. Perform various standard molecular biology techniques, order supplies and equipment, prepare solutions and growth media, replenish and sterilize lab supplies, provide maintenance of laboratory and equipment, and assist in dishwashing and general cleaning. Fulfill outside requests for biological materials, including submission of material transfer agreement requests, maintain laboratory strain collections of cyanobacteria and Escherichia coli, and provide work direction for undergraduate students.
