This recruitment will be used to fill 1 full-time Temp Pipe and Steam Fitter in the UHDS Facilities Services department at Oregon State University (OSU).

The focus of the Residential Maintenance & Facilities unit is customer service oriented operational maintenance, repair & construction.
The purpose of this position is to provide quality, courteous, and timely facilities maintenance services to all internal and external customers; to schedule, coordinate, and provide an effective predictive & preventive maintenance program; to provide skilled installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of steam systems, equipment, fixtures and appliances in accordance with established codes and standards; provide for quality control and review all work; to provide after hour emergency response; to estimate time, material, and resource needs; to coordinate and assist with work in associated areas; and to provide safe, secure, and sanitary living & dining facilities for students living in University owned facilities.
Two years of experience as a journey-level pipe and steamfitter; OR Completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
This position is designated as a critical, security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be deemed fit for duty at placement and while serving in the position.
This position must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record while serving in the position; therefore, the incumbent must provide a copy of their driving history for the past 2 years from the issuing state’s Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
This position is deemed essential and the incumbent is expected to contact his/her supervisor (or Person In Charge) by phone during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures to determine if she/he must report to work.
Work performance is during regular operating hours, including swing shifts, & emergency response operations after regular operating hours.
