The Frontier Cancer Center at St. Vincent offers cutting-edge cancer treatment in a healing and beautiful environment. Our Radiation Oncology departments is growing. We offer high dose rate brachytherapy, stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy and CyberKnife radiotherapy in addition to our comprehensive slate of radiation oncology services. We are open Monday -Thursday from 8am-5pm, and Fridays from 8am to noon.

As a Radiation Therapist, you need to know how to:
Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart and patient identification. Explains procedures to the patients, reinforcing the radiation oncologistâ™s and/or nurses instructions regarding reactions to treatment and their care
Prepares room and equipment for the patient according to the prescription, i.e., immobilization devices, blocks, filed sizes etc. Transfers patients a needed.
Verifies the treatment Muâ™s and beam energy in the treatment chart prescribed adjustments. Documents treatment Muâ™s cumulative dose, site specific doses, treatment parameters, instructions, diagrams, photos and all billing information.
Performs treatment simulation and all that it requires for procedure (including cerrobend block fabrication). Develop0s x-rays and port films as needed, filing as needed.

High School diploma or equivalent, required
Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required
Current license/certification in Radiation Therapy in Montana, required
Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
Strong organization skills and attention to detail, required
Prior Radiation Therapy experience, preferred
ARRT/RT or ARRT/RT(T), preferred
