USCâs University Communications department is looking for an energetic digital content specialist to support the universityâs digital storytelling on multiple platforms.
Reporting to the digital content manager, the digital content specialist supports the content team in producing visual content and optimizing written content for SEO. The specialist should have experience producing âsnackableâ video content: shooting, editing, sound, especially for short-form video content to support the digital content strategy.
Writes engaging and accurate content that can be used within gateway sites to promote key priorities and updates that content frequently to keep the digital properties fresh.
Optimizes content for digital distribution through SEO best practices; experience working in SEO is essential.
Works within WordPress to produce new websites and add content to existing sites.
Shoots, edits and produces short-form videos to support content strategy.
Coordinates with social media team on broader digital content campaigns.
Bachelor's degree in communication, design or a related field is preferred.
1-3 years experience in higher education or related industry a plus.
Excellent written communication skills with experience with SEO/SEM.
WordPress or other similar CMS experience required.
Working knowledge of email marketing platforms like Salesforce, MailChimp, or similar platforms with HTML and CSS working knowledge.
Proficiency in graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) and experience with video editing to create social media cut-downs (Premiere Pro or related video editing program) is essential.
