Job Responsibilities The Information Systems Analyst is responsible for participating in complex system analysis, system configuration/build, testing, implementation, and on-going management of key IT initiatives. Initiatives include the assessment and management of Enterprise projects related to clinical and business solutions supporting initiatives related to Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Research, Supply Chain, and Compliance applications, both vendor-supported and custom. The position may also work on IT projects in support of technology operations and administrative functions.
The analyst will apply a broad degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in clinical applications, ancillary systems, and integrations with other applications. Contributes to new and innovative workflows to improve operational efficiencies. Participates in the systems analysis and testing aspects of projects, working with cross-functional teams, and subject matter experts throughout the delivery process. This includes all aspects of system implementation from requirements gathering, analysis and design, configuration and testing, through deployment and support. Problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and / or structure. Leads resolution of moderately complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Applies advanced business process and analysis concepts, organizational objectives, and industry knowledge to lead projects of moderate scope and complexity. Contributes to new and innovative workflows to improve workflow efficiencies. Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
This position will interact with all levels of IT management and staff and work with a high degree of independence and decision-making.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of work experience or 5-7 years of hands-on work experience.
- Experience as a business or systems analyst participating in medium to large scale IT applications projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills applied to document complex business processes and system requirements.
- Experience with integrated applications.
- Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architecture, and various SDLC methodologies and practices.
- Knowledge of software delivery life cycle; planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
- Strong foundational knowledge of applications and underlying technologies (servers, storage, databases, etc).
- Practiced interpersonal communication skills to clearly and effectively train, support, collaborate, clarify technology situations, and resolve problems with a diverse group of end-users and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
- Skills to conduct research, perform a quantitative and qualitative analysis of diverse information, and prepare analysis and documentation in a logical format with minimal supervision.
- Strong skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, including the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement
Preferred Qualifications - Business Analyst certification (such as CBAP), Project Management certification (such as the PMP) or other relevant business or system analysis certification
- Experience with Enterprise applications, such as Human Resources, EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Record/Electronic Health Record), ERP Financial/Supply Chain, Compliance, or other administrative or ancillary applications.
- Academic institution or large integrated healthcare facility experience.
- Experience working with diverse groups, including peers, leaders, and others in a matrixed environment.
- Manage project schedules, manage multiple activities and priorities, and maintain productivity.
