Mountain Parks Electric, Inc. (MPEI) has an immediate job opening for the position of Systems Administrator located at our company headquarters in Granby, CO. MPEI is an electrical cooperative located in Granby, CO in the north central mountains of Colorado.
Applicants must have an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, or a closely related field and 5 years of related professional experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience. COMPTIA A+, Network +, Security +, Microsoft MCSA certification or other industry certifications desired.
This position is responsible for managing IT systems administration in conjunction with the IT Team. The position includes but is not limited to:
- Build, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and other data center equipment.
- Implement system monitoring ensuring IT’s infrastructure is running as intended.
- Follows policies and procedures and uses own judgment and initiative in solving problems and performing computer support service tasks. Effectively works with end-users to understand their technology specific requirements and find ways to leverage technology to meet their business requirements.
- Serves as primary Windows Server administrator.
- Administers VMware Esxi environment.
- Reviews, researches, and recommends infrastructure enhancements and updates.
- Assist with the maintenance, repair, and upgrades of MPEI’s communication/network infrastructure including wired, wireless, and fiber networks between offices.
- Escalates appropriate advanced technical requests to resolve highly technical problems as required.
- Availability for on call emergencies and after hours / weekends for system maintenance.
- Control and protect data and resources in accordance with the MPEI Information Security Plan and recommend enhancements to further protect MPEI’s data.
- Continual and or retraining in software or hardware specific requirements and knowledge due to changes in offered resources.
- Other duties as assigned.
MPEI owns and operates approximately 1800 miles of line operating at 25kV with approximately 22,000 meters. MPEI is headquartered in Granby, Colorado at 7,935 feet, 90 miles from Denver International Airport and 25 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Compensation Range: $30.13-$53.22/ hour depending on experience.
