Overview As Wellness Coach/Coordinator, this position will be responsible for supporting the campus wellness climate and developing programs using current resources to assist individuals, groups, specific programs (MSPAS/MPH) and the campus as a whole to be healthier. This is a .25-.5 FTE position (10-20 hours/week) is a part of a Grant funded Wellness Program under the supervision of the TUC Director of Student Success Services.
Responsibilities Coordinate with Office of Student Success Services to collect data, create, market, administer, promote, and evaluate all wellness programming for the TUC students, faculty, and staff. Coordinate with Office of Student Success Services to collect data, create, market, administer, promote, and evaluate all wellness programming specifically for the TUC-MSPAS/MPH students, faculty, and staff. Support the expansion of the Wellness, Academic Achievement, Resilience and Mindfulness Programming to the TUC community Work with the office of Environmental Health and Safety and other offices to manage and process and track all events and volunteers. Provide support for the Global Wellness Elective Coordinate and organize the training of 8-13 students to teach Suicide Prevention, Substance Use Prevention and Resiliency Training to other students, faculty and staff. Provide support for food distribution events. Comply with and observe all health codes, departmental service standards, and to all health, safety, rules and regulations by the University, City, County, and State health agencies. Attend and participate in organizational meetings as required. Work as a team with other programs, community agencies, and staff. Reports to work, when needed, ready to work at the time work assignment is scheduled to begin. Works with student participants, workers and helpers in a professional manner. Cooperate and communicate with other University staff and students to promote a positive campus climate. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications QUALIFICATION(S):
Successfully completing a wellness coach training program Knowledge of the administrative software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Google Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE:
High school or vocational school graduate or equivalent or working toward diploma. Background in Wellness, Social Work or related field Good working knowledge and use of the English language Six months' to one year minimum in the food and beverage industry
REASONING COMPETENCY: Level 2 - Competent Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to exhibit maturity, good judgment, and flexibility
LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: Level 2 - Competent Ability to read & interpret documents such as email correspondences, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Ability to relate, speak, and cooperate effectively before groups of customers, students, clients or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCY: Level 1 Entry Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic knowledge of inventory, creating spreadsheets, and record keeping principles
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to handle pressure, exercise quick thinking, and maintain an adequate energy level through the work day. 1 year experience of wellness coaching, student advising, public health practices or social work. Able to articulate a sustainable wellness vision. Able to apply coaching skills such as curious inquiry, empathy, reflective listening, and goal setting. Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature changes. Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the work day. Ability to exhibit and maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, appearance, behavior, and attitude. Must work safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and campus faculty, staff, and students. Promptly reports personal injury to Supervisor and seeks first aid as required.
OTHER TRAINING OR CERTIFICATION:
Valid National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching certification. Valid California Drivers License (Required by the first day of service). California Department of Motor Vehicles printout of the new employees driving record (Required) California Food Handler Card First Aid Certificate must be acquired during the employees probationary period
