Location: McKinney, Texas (This is a Field RN role)
Status: PRN (1-2 shifts per week)
Schedule: Varies (Someone willing to work both days and nights, primarily days)
Job Scope: Caring for higher acuity patients within the comfort of the home, managing their resources, vitals, medication management, IVs, blood draws, dressing changes, and collaborating with physicians, lab, etc.

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.
What You'll Do
- Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.
- Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
- Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
- Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
- Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.
What Will Make You Successful in The Role
- Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.
- Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
- Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
- Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
- Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.

EDUCATION:
-Strongly prefer BSN or higher.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION:
-Registered Nurse (RN)
-Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
EXPERIENCE:
-Two years of nursing strongly preferred.
-Recent Acute and/or Critical Care experience required.
-Strongly prefer nursing experience that has required independent work relevant to this role- Caring for higher acuity patients within the comfort of their home, managing their resources, vitals, medication management, IVs, blood draws, dressing changes, and collaborating with physicians, lab, etc.
