The Opportunity
Are you great at supervising people, evaluating custodial needs, and making things happen? If you are service and goal oriented, passionate about budgets and program and people management, take a look at our Custodial Services Manager position.
As the Custodial Services Manager, you will manage custodial services for multiple buildings, which involves administration, supervision, and direction of activities involved in custodial services for the WSU Vancouver campus. You will advise and assist the Campus Facilities Executive, with minimal direction, on all matters pertaining to Custodial Services. You will exercise independent judgment and have delegated decision-making authority. The Custodial Services Manager is a first-line supervisor with total responsibility for custodial services management, reporting to the Facilities Executive.

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
This position works on-site on the WSU Vancouver campus. The position will be primarily on campus with some remote work opportunities after 6 months; remote work may also be available during breaks when students are not present.
Monthly Salary: $4,383 - $6,100 | Zone 3, Grade 4, Quartile 1 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
The above salary is the department's expected hiring range. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the full salary range for this position is $4,383.00 - $6,579.00 USD Monthly. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Be available to work 8-hour days Monday through Friday, schedule TBD. Some flexibility or on-call hours may be needed to lead the work of the custodian team between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. There may be infrequent overtime on weekends and holidays.
Demonstrated ability to operate and teach others equipment and processes used in the custodial industry, operate and troubleshoot equipment.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments.
Proven ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Successful completion of a motor vehicle background check required.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to supervise, develop and implement training for custodian staff and effectively manage personnel.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Experience managing budgets and inventory.
