The UC Irvine Department of History is a community of scholars who pride ourselves on teaching, research, professional and public service. The department is comprised of 37 senate faculty, 5-7 non senate lecturers, 45 PHD students, 5 MA students, and 325 undergraduate majors. The department houses the UCI History Project, the Career Development for Historians program and the Women and Social Movements Journal. In addition, we provide administrative support to the Religious Studies Program, Armenian Studies Program, Jewish Studies Minor and Native American and Indigenous Studies Minor.
The UC Irvine History Project provides an institutional framework for collaboration between the UCI History Department and K-12 history-social science teachers in Orange County. The UCI History Project is dedicated to the mission of providing a space for history teachers at varying points in their career, from credential candidates to veteran teachers, to engage in high-quality professional development.
Your Role on the Team
Under the general direction of the Department Manager, the History/History Project Analyst provides policy and program planning, administration, management, and implementation for the History Project, as well as other programs as assigned. The History/History Project Analyst works with the Department of Religious Studies Chair to plan and research community engagement activities, including independently managing program implementation. The History/History Project Analyst works closely with MSO to manage the History Project budget, analyzes and processes financial transactions. Under the direction of the History Department Chair, Program Directors, and MSO the History/History Project Analyst performs research relating to the Undergraduate Programs of the Department of History, Program in Religious Studies, Armenian Studies, Jewish Studies, Native American Studies, and the UCI History Project.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $28.07- $48.28 (Hourly).
Required:
Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), KFS, Website Management Tools and graphc design software (InDesign), Instagram, Adobe Premiere (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere Pro), Canva and Mailchimp.
Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.

Familiarity with maintaining websites and ability to create social media posts via Instagram and Facebook.
Skill in interacting with people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation and other differences.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of budgeting and expense reporting.
Experience working in an academic research and teaching unit.
Familiarity with University and campus-wide policies and procedures and the Ability to correctly interpret UC Policies and documents (i.e., transcripts, course descriptions, UCI catalogue)
A minimum of 1 year of experience - experience working in an academic research/teaching unit
