Job Summary

The Psychometrist 2 administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests. This is done under a psychologist's direction and follows established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions of the Role

• Administers and scores personal neuropsychological tests following standardized procedures. These tests measure clinical factors like cognitive functioning, organic involvement, personality, and psychopathology. They also aid in differential diagnosis.
• Record behavioral observations during the test session. Establish and maintain rapport. Elicit optimum performance and minimize factors affecting test validity.
• Documents test scores and keeps accurate records in the departmental database. Ensures confidentiality of test results and recommendations. Maintains security of testing materials.
• Coordinates scheduling and communicates testing procedures and priorities to patients and other hospital personnel, as requested.
• Provides clinical documentation of patient information.

Key Success Factors

• Master's degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with neuropsychological and psychological tests preferred.
• Knowledge of assessment methods and knowledge of psychometric statistics.
• Requires a high level of professionalism and proven interest in testing.
• Requires attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of computers and basic software applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Social skills to effectively work with a wide range of people and constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
