Fall River Electric Cooperative is seeking an experienced Manager of Engineering to serve as a key member of the Cooperative’s Management Team. This role provides technical and strategic leadership for system planning, engineering design, and system reliability to ensure safe, dependable electric service for Cooperative members.
Position Summary
Leads all engineering functions including long- and short-range system planning, distribution and transmission design, substations, metering, materials, and system analysis. The position works closely with Operations and Executive Leadership to support load growth, capital planning, and infrastructure reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the Engineering Department and develop engineering staff
Direct system planning, technical studies, and engineering design standards
Oversee capital improvement programs, annual work plans, and budgets
Analyze system performance, capacity, and reliability to support future growth
Coordinate engineering activities with Operations and Office Management
Support BPA load forecasting, large load planning, and contract negotiations
Approve materials, equipment, and engineering specifications
Promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution (engineering or related field preferred)
Five or more years of electric utility or related industry experience
Prior supervisory or management experience
Strong technical knowledge of electric distribution and transmission systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Valid Idaho Driver’s License (or ability to obtain)

Fall River has over 14,000 electric owner-members, more than 17,000 electric meters and approximately 6,000 propane customers through the Co-op’s subsidiary Fall River Propane.
