Overview
Tucson Medical Center is seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist II to support complex medical staff credentialing and privileging functions within an acute care setting. This role partners closely with Medical Staff leadership and administration, ensures compliance with accreditation standards, and serves as a mentor and resource to Credentialing Specialist I staff.
This position is ideal for a credentialing professional who enjoys problem solving, collaboration, and working at a higher level of responsibility within a Medical Staff Office.
Hybrid/remote option available for Tucson based candidates. Relocation assistance available.

What You’ll Do
Coordinate and maintain initial and reappointment credentialing and privileging processes
Perform primary source verification and manage follow-up for required documentation
Review applications for accuracy and completeness; ensure documentation supports requested privileges
Apply medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations; serve as a credentialing resource to leadership
Support internal and external surveys, audits, and accreditation activities
Utilize credentialing software for provider correspondence, status changes, and tracking
Support Medical Staff meetings as needed, including preparation of records and documentation
Mentor and support Credentialing Specialist I staff and peers
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Manager, Medical Staff Affairs
What You’ll Bring
High school diploma or GED
2–4 years of medical staff credentialing and privileging experience in an acute care setting
Strong knowledge of medical staff bylaws, credentialing regulations, and compliance standards
CPCS or CPMSM certification preferred
Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
