Villanova Prep, is a distinguished co-ed, college preparatory school in beautiful Ojai, California. Founded by Augustinian Friars and ranked as one of the best Catholic schools in America, VPS was visited several times by Pope Leo when he was head of the worldwide Order of Saint Augustine. Villanova Prep seeks an aquatics coach(es) to head the varsity boys and girls water polo and swim programs.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Planning and conducting practices, and preparing student-athletes for competition.
Develop and support fundraising initiatives to help off set the programs costs
Ensure the safety of all participants and enforce pool safety protocols.
Coordinate with the athletic director regarding schedules, transportation, and program needs.
Recruiting and supervising assistant coaches.
Communicating with student-athletes, parents, and school administrators regarding expectations, schedules, athletic program policies etc.
Commitment to modeling the values of Catholic education and Villanova’s Augustinian mission.
Required Qualifications:
Prior coaching experience in swimming and/or water polo.
Knowledge of water polo and/or swim training methods, rules, and competition structure.
Ability to work well with high school students.
Current lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous high school or club coaching experience in aquatics.
Experience working in a Catholic high school environment.
The wage range is $4,000 - $15,000 depending on experience and number of sports or seasons coaching.
