Stevenson School is a PK-12 co-educational, college-preparatory, boarding and day school with enrollment of 750 students on two campuses in beautiful Central Coast California.
Stevenson School is seeking Summer Teaching Associates and Summer Program Lead Teachers for the summer’s The Camp at Stevenson School. The Camp is located at both the Carmel and Pebble Beach campuses, inspiring creativity and curiosity and offering an unforgettable summer experience to campers. Sessions start June 28, 2026.

Summer Teaching Associates
Are you an early-career educator looking to hone your skills and knowledge in an active classroom setting? Are you interested in learning more about teaching and coaching in a boarding school environment? If so, come to beautiful Pebble Beach, California, and immerse yourself in a holistic and supportive educational environment.
Stevenson’s summer teaching associate program offers early-career educators an exciting opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive and constructive environment. All teaching associates will be paired with experienced teachers, coupled with additional guidance and instruction from Stevenson’s New Faculty Program director. The guidance and support offered will be focused on pedagogy, student engagement, and lesson planning.
Teaching associates will live in the dorm and assist with residential and co-curricular activities. We ask that teaching associates commit to at least a one-week teaching session, though preference will be given to those who can work two or more one-week sessions. Teaching associates will be provided with housing, meals, and a stipend of $700/week. Priority will be given to those currently enrolled in college and interested in teaching as a profession.
Summer Program Lead Teacher
Are you an experienced educator looking to hone your skills and knowledge in an active classroom setting? Do you have a course unit or content idea you would like to explore in a creative and supportive environment? If so, come to beautiful Pebble Beach, California, and immerse yourself in a holistic and joyful educational environment.
Stevenson’s summer teaching program offers educators an exciting opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive and constructive environment. Lead teachers will be given content and pedagogical freedom to create active, meaningful learning opportunities for students from around the world. When possible, lead teachers will be paired with associate teachers to assist in the teaching and learning process.
Ideally, lead teachers will teach at least one one-week course. Lead teachers will be provided with meals and a stipend of $850/week. If interested, we can provide housing tied to residential responsibilities.

Responsibilities Include:
Lead and actively participate in a wide range of camp activities
Supervise campers to ensure safety, inclusion, and fun
Build a positive, encouraging atmosphere for all
Help plan, organize, and run daily classes or programs
Work as part of a team to deliver a seamless camp experience
Maintain a secure environment by enforcing camp rules and safety procedures
Respond appropriately to camper concerns and behavior
Set a positive example through through responsible conduct and enthusiastic upholding of camp values
Create a welcoming and inclusive space to support campers’ personal growth, development of social skills, and responsible independence
Be attentive to campers’ needs and proactively communicate with team of counselors and leadership staff to meet camper needs and ensure safety
Provide clear communication at all times with campers, staff, leadership
Complete mandatory training sessions and participate in team meetings
Dorm Life & Overnight Duties for Residential Teacher Associates and Program Leads
Conduct nightly check-ins and lights-out routines
Supervise dormitories, ensuring camper safety and adherence to quiet hours
Respond to overnight needs, emergencies, or camper concerns in a calm and timely manner
Organize and lead evening events (campfires, games, movie nights, etc.)
Ensure campers are safe and accounted for during transitions and free time on campus
Required Qualifications:
Genuine passion for working with children and/or teens
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Dedication to camper safety, growth, and fun
Willingness to fully engage in the camp season, including training sessions
Prior camp experience is a plus
This is a seasonal position based on the Pebble Beach Campus.

Founded in 1952, Stevenson School is a selective co-educational boarding and day school with 750 students and 30 buildings on 50 acres of land and two campuses. The 500-student upper division, comprised of grades 9-12, is located on the Pebble Beach Campus, where about 60% of students reside in six faculty-supervised dormitories; the lower and middle divisions, totaling 250 students in grades PK-8, are located on the Carmel Campus.
