What will you be doing in this role?
The Associate Director, Accounts Payable has primary responsibility for coordinating and directing the operations of Accounts Payable for Cedars-Sinai Health System and its affiliates.
The other primary responsibility is compliance with local, state and federal tax reporting. Includes but not limited to annual 1099 reporting, foreign national withholding and reporting, CA Franchise Tax board reporting for non-resident Californians, and unclaimed property reporting, payments and escheatment.
The Associate Director, Accounts Payable is responsible to establish and enforce policies and procedure around Accounts Payable process. The Associate Director, Accounts Payable is also responsible for designing and implementing adequate internal controls around cash disbursements:
Responsible to lead the A/P function for Cedars-Sinai Health System and its affiliates. This includes ensuring that payments are made accurately, timely and within organization standards and policies.
Develops spending policies and procedures and enforce these policies and procedures to prevent fraud and waste of company resources. Responsible for internal and external audits related to cash disbursement.
Develops business and operation plans for specific programs and services that promotes growth and scalability. Identifies areas of opportunity for cost saving and automation and implement solutions.
Collaborates with other Cedars Sinai Health System areas (i.e. Procurement and Supply Chain) in cross functional process improvement, collaborative teamwork, open communication and problem solving to ensure the effective coordination and integration of services within and between departments. Strategizes with key collaborators to identify areas for improvement and deliver customer-centric solutions.
Prepares and monitors department budget and expenses. Uses performance metrics to supervise, coach and train staff for the effective development of staffing and management of productivity.
Develops policies and procedures that ensure compliance with government regulations, company policies, audit controls, and audit requirements.
Assumes fiscal responsibility for the unit including unit budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, and revenue enhancement.
Manages the effective utilization of human resources and supplies within the unit, including the development of appropriate staffing and management of productivity. Develops staffing plans in response to transaction volume and activity, as well as expansion of the organization. Recommends enough qualified and competent persons to support the organization needs.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related major required.
A minimum of 10 years of Accounts Payable experience in large organizations.
A minimum of 10 years of experience with leading teams.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
