Tacoma Housing Authority (THA) is seeking an accomplished real estate and asset management leader to help steward a diverse and mission driven portfolio that strengthens communities across Tacoma. This is a high impact opportunity for a strategic and collaborative professional ready to influence major organizational priorities.
As a key member of THA’s Asset Management and Real Estate Development Department, the Associate Director serves as the Director’s senior deputy—helping guide long-term planning, lead complex development and recapitalization initiatives, and ensure THA’s assets remain financially strong, sustainable, and aligned with our commitment to service and community impact.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in real estate development, urban planning, finance, architecture, construction management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
5 or more years’ experience in affordable multi-family housing development or related field.
Proven experience managing multiple projects through financing, design, and construction.
Strong understanding of public and private financing programs (LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, HUD, HOME, CDBG, etc.).
Established in 1940, Tacoma Housing Authority provides high-quality, stable and sustainable housing and supportive services to people in need. It does this in ways that help them prosper and help our communities develop equitably.
THA maintains a portfolio of more than 1,800 dwelling units and serves more than 5,000 families through our housing, voucher, property-based subsidy, and client support programs. We develop and manage real estate, provide rental housing, and help families pay the rent in the private rental market in partnership with thousands of private landlords. We also deliver supportive services to help families succeed as “tenants, parents, students, wage earners and builders of assets who can live without assistance.”
