Position Summary: Reports to the Manager of the Cardiovascular Diagnostic Testing demonstrates competency in all duties typically performed by a non-invasive cardiovascular technologist. Under general supervision independently performs complex cardiovascular procedures. including treadmill stress testing, nuclear stress imaging, pharmacological and exercise echocardiogram. Performs 24 hour ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring and ECGs. Assists in the data management of the ECG, Stress and Holter system. Acts as the lead to the other treadmill & EKG technicians, responsible for training of new staff, does the monthly schedule, manages the equipment list for the department, evaluates new equipment, processes & tests. Assures that there is proper staffing for all rooms and areas. Approves timecards in API, assists with evaluations in HR Connect. Leads by example.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
Understanding of medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must be competent in collecting and interpreting data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs
Knowledge of medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels
Knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias
Experience in recognition of arrhythmia
Current BLS certification
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
5 years' experience working in a busy cardiac stress lab
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Title 22 and JCAHO standards
Previous experience in cardiac stress, EKG, Holter monitor, ambulatory 24 hr blood pressure monitoring & various other non-invasive cardiac testing
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
Ability to instruct others in the use of equipment and performance of procedures
