The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) is the central coordinating and support organization for a highly regarded cluster of seven independent colleges known as The Claremont Colleges. TCCS, with about 300 staff members, provides exceptional shared services to 9,000 students, and almost 3,600 faculty and staff. TCCS staff work in both student-facing services as well as administrative and operational services. Our numerous departments are located throughout The Claremont Colleges campus in the beautiful city of Claremont, California.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
As the Program Coordinator/Evening Exam Proctor for the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC), you will play an important role in supporting student success by coordinating programs that promote accessibility and inclusion while ensuring the effective delivery of evening testing services.
In this collaborative role, you will partner with colleagues across campus, contribute to training and program initiatives, and help foster a supportive community that advances equitable access to education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, coordinate, and implement educational programs, workshops, and events that promote access, inclusion, disability awareness, and equitable participation for students, faculty, and staff.
Attend outreach, orientation, and campus engagement events; collaborate with campus partners to develop and deliver programming related to neurodiversity, universal design, and inclusive practices.
Manage program logistics, including scheduling, space coordination, materials preparation, and communication with participants and stakeholders.
Evaluate program effectiveness through attendance tracking, participant feedback, and assessment tools; analyze outcomes to inform continuous improvement of future programming.
Support the development and facilitation of training sessions for faculty, staff, and student employees related to accommodations, testing practices, and inclusive learning environments.
Stay informed of best practices, emerging trends, and current research in disability services, accessibility, and inclusive programming to inform program development.
Assist the SDRC Assistant Director with technology awareness initiatives and student training related to accommodations and accessible tools.
Support the SDRC Assistant Director in the coordination and implementation of the peer note-taking accommodation process.
Foster community engagement and promote awareness of SDRC services through outreach, programming, and collaborative initiatives.
Provide exam proctoring support by preparing previously approved exam requests, coordinating with faculty to obtain and return exams, and administering examinations in accordance with established procedures, including monitoring testing rooms, enforcing time limits, addressing candidate questions, reporting irregularities, and responding to equipment malfunctions.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of testing center protocols; promote and enforce all requirements while clearly communicating exam expectations to faculty and exam candidates.
Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical records in compliance with institutional policies, FERPA, ADA, and other applicable regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:
A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Disability Studies or a related field.
Experience:
The equivalent of one year of program coordination experience in a related field, preferably in higher education
Competencies:
Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act law and case law, along with best practices for working with students with disabilities in higher education.
Understanding of FERPA regulations.
Learn general and specialized software applications and other assistive technology
Able to use basic functions of Microsoft Word, Outlook, web-based databases (e.g., AIM) and an online timekeeping system. Able to learn new computer technology as needed.
Demonstrated customer service skills for public contact in person and on the telephone.
Exercise judgement and discretion.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Able to give clear and concise instructions in English.
Meet and deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner while enforcing examination rules and procedures.
Able to keep information confidential.
Maintain accurate records.
Count quickly and accurately.
Punctuality, dependability, and flexibility.
Attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:
Masters degree or the equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Disability Studies or a related field.
Work Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are 40 hours scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 11:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. on Fridays during academic terms. Outside of academic terms there is flexibility to work 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. May be required to work holiday, weekend, and/or evening hours. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or business unit.
COMPENSATION
Pay: The pay rate for this position is competitive and commensurate with the duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required for the position, between $28 and $30 per hour.
