Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatal Hospitalist to join a premier, integrated neonatology program in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our multidisciplinary team includes neonatologists, neonatal hospitalists, and advanced practice clinicians working collaboratively across multiple sites.
This is an opportunity to practice in a community-based setting with the support, stability, and resources of a large, physician-led multispecialty organization-while delivering high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care.
Practice Overview
As part of our integrated program, physicians provide care across two clinical sites, each offering a distinct scope of practice within a collaborative system:
California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco, CA)
Regional referral center with a 35-bed Level III NICU and access to advanced subspecialty services.
Clinical scope includes:
Neonatal inpatient care, including attendance at high-risk deliveries
Night coverage supported by an in-house neonatal hospitalist team
Active well-baby service
Participation in neonatal transport and high-risk perinatal coordination
Collaboration with pediatric subspecialists through programs such as Small Baby Unit, neurocritical care, and neonatal surgery (in partnership with Stanford Children?s Health)
Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame, CA)
Community hospital with approximately 1,500 annual deliveries, supported by dedicated neonatal hospitalists providing 24/7 coverage.
Clinical scope includes:
In-house neonatal care with coverage of newborn and special care nursery services
Management of Level II Special Care Nursery (6 beds) with advanced monitoring capabilities
Care for infants with respiratory distress, jaundice, feeding challenges, and premature infants (?34 weeks gestation)
Active well-baby service and delivery room coverage
Coordination with neonatology, transport teams, and pediatric subspecialists
Emphasis on family-centered care, including parent education and support
Collaborative Model
Our neonatal hospitalists work closely with neonatologists, obstetricians, and labor and delivery teams across both sites to ensure seamless care transitions and high-quality outcomes. This integrated model promotes continuity, clinical variety, and a strong team-based culture.
Qualifications
·Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics or Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
·Active California medical license (or eligibility) by start date
